OTLEY found it difficult to break down a resolute Hinckley, but eventually ran out winners in west Yorkshire.
A week of heavy rain created conditions more suitable for the bigger Hinckley forwards who suffocated most of Otley’s first-half efforts.
The visitors started well, winning a penalty at the first scrum which was kicked for a five-metre lineout, but they soon found out Otley’s terrier-like defence all-enveloping.
Despite having the bulk of possession went behind on 18 minutes when full-back Tom Hodson kicked a 40- metre penalty.
