GUERNSEY Raiders saw off visitors Barnes in a match punctuated by a series of yellow cards.

Barnes struck first when Rory Kassapian crashed over following sustained pressure, Jack Martin adding the conversion.

Raiders opened their account when Ethan Smith won a chase following a chip from Ciaran McGann and continued to forge ahead following numerous Barnes penalties.

Dom Rice was driven over and prop Sam Steventon’s storming run led to Antony Armstrong scoring.

Barnes struck back when Thomas Spencer-Jones followed up on a charge down and Martin converted. A penalty try added to the Raiders woes with Niall McGann’s yellow card for interfering with a certain Barnes try before McGann slotted a Guernsey penalty to end the first half.

Raiders then took the game to Barnes and a Joseph Henry yellow added to the pressure, leading to Armstrong’s second try. But Jacques Birch scored twice for Barnes before McGann slotted a penalty to keep Raiders in touch.

Another yellow, for Oliver Tack, stung Barnes and a attack found Jack Col-bourne winning the chase to score.
