CANTERBURY produced a dominate performance to see off Worthing.

They quickly opened the scoring through Harvey Furneaux, but Worthing came back into it through poor discipline by Canterbury, giving Worthing opportunities for points.

Canterbury responded well with tries from Garry Jones and Will Waddington. Then just before half-time came the try of the day from Tom Williams.

The -half spotted half a gap round the ruck and, taking the space, made the break from just outside Canterbury’s 20, beating a couple of players to get over the line to score a fantastic solo effort.

Going into the second half, it was very much the same from a strong Canterbury side.

Worthing did, however, show some good spells of their own with a try from Charlie Spencer.

This was then cancelled out by Jones’ second try of the game.

Worthing then capitalised on a handling error and Jimmy Staples scored from it.

Canterbury then closed out the game with tries from Max Campbell and Chad Thomas, a scoreline which reflected the game, and also with a perfect day off the tee from Frank Reynolds.
