BARNES opened their account with victory over Quins

Star man Paul Webb made the first impression, breaking from deep before the ball was picked up by Harvey Graham to score.

Quins’ Tom Walton was then yellow-carded for a high tackle and Barnes took advantage with Webb setting up Lewis Jones to muscle his way over, with Jack Martin converting.

Ewan Fox slotted a penalty for Quins, but Barnes hit back with Simon Linsell grabbing a converted try.

Just before the break, the omnipresent Webb fed Graham for his second try, and Martin converted to make it 26-3.

Barnes were out of the blocks quickly at the start of the second half, Josh Archer scoring and Martin converting, before Dylan Munro added to the tally.

Quins’ Adam Fields scored their first try in the National Leagues in 70th minute to reduce the deficit, and Fox with the conversion.

But Ethan Sikorski scored in the 73rd minute and Martin again converted.

Quins scored their second try, Walton dotting down and Fox converting, and then Fields deservedly scoring his second try from their effective maul, right on the full-time whistle as Barnes took their foot off the gas.
