New faces win battle at the bottom for Fred’s men

FOR the last two seasons, Worthing have been a mainstay at the top of the National Two East table, with back-to-back topfour finishes. It’s been puzzling, therefore, to see them spend this season grappling for wins at the lower half of the table.
However, with a crucial win against Sevenoaks on March 16, and Wimbledon’s winless run dating back to mid-February, Fred Pierrepont’s side have their safety all but secured heading into this weekend, with an 11-point gap separating them from the relegation spots.
