IN an entertaining thriller in the capital, National League newboys Wimbledon came out on top against fellow newly-promoted side Westcombe Park.

Malek Touilzak opened the scoring for the hosts with an unconverted score, but Kieran Thompson’s converted try moments later overturned the deficit.

Alexander Cahill scored a penalty to increase Westcombe’s lead and Toby Wallace scored a converted try.

Toulizak scored his second in reply with Edward Morgan on hand to convert and after 35 minutes he completed his hat-trick.

Thomas Bracegirdle enhanced the hosts’ purple patch before half-time as he crossed, but Westcombe hit back through Thompson.

Jack Reville saw yellow for Wimbledon and Nicholas Cook took advantage of the visitors’ numerical advantage.

Keita Orelaja was sent to the sin-bin for Westcombe and five minutes later it was the hosts’ turn to take advantage as Harry Hill crossed for a try that Morgan improved.

Cleet extended Wimbledon’s advantage with a converted score before the away side hit back with a Cahill penalty.

Alex Kerr rounded off the try scoring with a late touchdown before Orelaja crossed.
