Guernsey eventually put a dent into Rochford 100’s battle as they ran up 50 points in an enthralling romp, with Hugo Culverhouse the star turn.

Raiders, who had Ethan Smith sent off late on, pounced with a try from Jordan Smiler straight from the kick-off, with Gareth Davies adding the conversion.

Rochford then produced a fine purple patch of their own, with tries from Gray, Owens and Ikhifa.

Two were converted by Cappaert and all in 15 minute, which silenced the home crowd.

Finally awake, Raiders returned the score in their favour before half-time with a fine display of counter attacking, with tries from Dom Rice, Luke Sayer, Dan Morgan and Tom Creber.

Davies converted one of the trieas to make it 29-19.

It took 25 minutes of play in the second half before either team troubled the scoreboard again.

Both teams squandered chances to make inroads.

Eventually, Rochford struck with a try. Converted by Cappaert.

Again a stung Guernsey sprang into life with tries from Roberts, Smiler and Sayer. All of them were converted by Davies.
