Barnes head coach Jack Heald feels his side’s much improved season is down to their shrewd front row signings that have bolstered their previously under firing pack.
Former Newcastle Falcons prop Alun Walker joined Barnes as a scrum coach at the start of the season and with the signings of Alex Wood and Rory Marsh, Heald feels the additional bulk has proved the difference in his side being on course to secure their highest ever finish in the National Leagues.
