Rochford Hundred came up with the perfect response to their 71-point drubbing against Barnes by edging out Canterbury in a fiercely-contested and nail-biting match.
The visitors went ahead with a try by Harvey Furneaux in the seventh minute, Frank Reynolds converting.
However, the home team were full of running and commitment. Their efforts were rewarded when Tauren Henwood raced in for a try in the tenth minute.
Canterbury's William Young scored a try in 31st minute and Reynolds converted. Rochford pressure resulted in a Dudman penalty on the stroke of half-time.
Rochford came out for the second session with all guns blazing and two well-struck penalties in the 48th and 56th minutes levelled the scoreline at 14-14. Flanker Rory Gray then put Hundred into the lead with a try in the 63rd minute, which Dudman converted.
The Kent outfit responded with another try by Furneaux in the 69th minute and Reynolds added the extras to level the scores again.
In the 72nd minute, Rochford's Sam Cappaert bagged a try and Dudman goaled. Ben Cooper crossed for Canterbury in the 75th minute, but the hosts held on for the vital win.
