Old Albanians……..26

A storming five-try first-half display by Dorking was enough to seal victory over Old Albanians at the Big Field.

Toby McRae bagged a hat-trick to add to scores for Cam Osborne and captain Fred Dalton in the opening period.

fought back to within one score in the second half, with only a 80th-minute Henry Anscombe penalty denying them a losing bonus point.

In a game of two halves, the Dorking forwards had control from the off, feeding a steady supply of quick ball through combative pickand-drives for McRae's first try after 11 minutes. He got a second under the posts on the 15-minute mark after a miss-move in the backs.

OAs replied with a fine solo try from Thomas Bailey, which he converted, but Dorking came straight back with Osborne winning a footrace to score under the posts. The half ended with a 38thminute OA try from Kemp Price, converted by Thomas and a 40th minute pick and drive try from Dorking's Fred Dalton. With Henry Anscombe converting four out of five, it was 33-14 at half-time.

Tries from Ned Hawker and Alex Noot, the second converted, spearheaded the comeback, but Anscombe's penalty secured the win.
