A hard-fought local derby in freezing conditions in front of a vocal crowd saw Rochford Hundred take a narrow win at Westcliff.
It was certainly a deserved win on the balance of play, and they scored four tries to one, but this ing, with prop Tim Hoyt finishing statistic was slightly misleading.
Westcliff performed like the lions on their shirts and on another day may have been better rewarded.
