REDRUTH did all they could to keep the title race alive until the day of the season with a comprehensive win over Barnstaple.

They produced some champagne , royally entertaining the large home crowd and leaving Barnstaple clutching at shadows.

Redruth struck early with a well-worked try for wing Kyle Bradley, who again showed his lethal finishing. Fly-half Fraser Honey kicked the first of his nine conversions in a faultless kicking display.

The backs were at it again soon after as centre Jack Simmons carved his way through.

Full-back Will Trewin, although not on the scoresheet, again showed his undoubted talent as one of the new players at this level this season.

Credit to Barnstaple as they pulled a try back through prop Martinas Domantas, bettered by centre Jake Murphy.

By half-time, Redruth were out of sight with further tries from lock Ed Pascoe, Bradley, with his second, and number eight Brad Howe.

The domination continued in the second half as -half Jack Oulton bagged a hat-trick of tries in 11 minutes, bamboozling the defence with his trickery.

Barnum pulled a score back when flanker Ryan Smale went over from close range and Tyler Gordon-Oke converted, but the final score went fittingly to the home side, with veteran Chris Fuca going over from a series of drives close to the line, and Honey putting the final touches to the result.
