Chiefs hold off late charge to edge close battle

BARNSTAPLE fended off a second-half surge from Hinckley to claim a narrow victory.
The first half began well for the Chiefs as they pressured Hinckley into several penalties.
That gave the hosts the first opportunity of the match and Jake Murphy opened the scoring with a penalty in the fifth minute.
Further pressure by Barnstaple was often let down by a poor performance at the line-out and at the scrum. Hinckley definitely had the edge in this part of the game as several attacks petered out.
