A REAL war of attrition at a wet and wild Barn Elms ended in a hardfought draw.
The first 15 minutes was filled with probing box kicks which resulted in only marginal territorial gains, and it was not until Barnes were awarded a penalty and BSE were marched back 10 for not retreating that fullback Rob Kirby stepped up to slot the points.
After a further 12 minutes where no quarter was given, Barnes were penalised for losing their binding. Up stepped 15 Charlie Reed to level the scores.
