DINGS ended a fivegame losing run with a resounding six tries to two victory over Canterbury at Shaftesbury Park.

There was nothing in it during a competitive and edgy first half, but the visitors had to make a lot of tackles, which eventually took its toll.

The home side opened the scoring with a multi-phase attack finished off by wing Tom Hargan. Canterbury hit back with a try from a driving line-out, prop Danny Herriott going over in the 26th minute.

Full-back Hugo Harbinson darted over for Dings' second unconverted try and the home side stretched their advantage when wing Tommy Foot evaded several defenders to score.

Crusaders upped the ante after the turnaround and played some superb . Scrumhalf Tom Knight caught the visitors napping with a quick tapped penalty, dashing in under the posts for a try converted by fly-half Tom Price. Canterbury got a second try, a well-taken effort by hooker Tristan King.

Dings added to their tally when centre Matt Smith sliced through midfield to add a fifth try – and they underlined their dominance with another unconverted try by prop Ashley Challenger in the act of the game.
