BARNES took control of the second half to secure a comfortable 33-8 win over Barnstaple at a windswept Barn Elms.
Barnes opened the scoring when a Barnstaple line-out was stolen by loose-forward Albert Slade. They advanced to the 22 and a Jonny Burden cross-kick landed in the hands of winger Paul O’Dell for a well-worked try.
Barnstaple responded via a penalty after 13 minutes by Kyran McManus.
Barnes made it 8-3 with a Rob Kirby penalty.
