REDRUTH turned in a superb team performance as they came away from Road with the full five points from a convincing win against Hinckley.

The conditions were bright and the mood strong around the club at kick-off, however the ruthless intensity of the visitors meant the hosts were facing an uphill struggle from the start.

The visitors were on the board early when a lucky bounce led to try for Jack Simmons and this was followed up with a well-taken try from Kyle Bradley.

The visitors were well on their way to victory before half-time with a 24-point lead.

However, Rory Vowles did give Hinckley some hope with a beautifully taken try after a chip over the top.

Joe Wilson converted that try for a 24-7 halftime score.

Hinckley started the second half the stronger side and were unfortunate not to get back into the game. They were being camped on the five-metre line on two occasions, but they were unable to convert their pressure into points.

As the second half went on, the intensity went out of the game as the end result started to look inevitable.

Due to injuries, Hinckley were then forced into a range of changes and had a number of players playing out of position .

That misfortune then opened the door to two late tries for the opposition, including one from influential second-row Todd Prisk.
