WESTCLIFF saved some face against Bournemouth despite throwing away a 15-point lead as nothing could ultimately separate the sides at the Gables.
After a dour first quarter, Westcliff finally took the lead with a wellworked try from Greg Bannister after Joe Ford and Jake Spivey had sliced the defence open.
They doubled their lead shortly afterwards when Ford was on hand to snatch a stray ball and outstrip the cover to score from distance.
The second half saw Bournemouth keep Westcliff at bay, before a fine backs move saw Myles Bean touching down in the corner.
