ALEXANDER Hind scored a hat-trick of tries as Barnes ended a run of five straight defeats with a comfortable bonus-point win over bottom-of-the-table Bournemouth.

It took Hind four minutes to open the scoring, breaking through a porous Bournemouth defence, before stretching his side’s lead three minutes later.

Grant Hancox kicked an easy penalty two minutes later, but that resistance was brief.

Barnes captain Johan van der Poel scored his side’s third try after a great run from Joshua Davies in the 11th minute.

Then, Peter Weightman scored the bonus-point try inside 20 minutes.

Barnes were rampant as Davies was freed by the excellent Basil Strang and that made it 33-3 in just 27 minutes.

Bournemouth did manage to hit back shortly after as Strang’s poor pass was intercepted by Daniel Kirkpatrick, who crashed over.

After Joshua Hammett kicked a penalty to stretch Barnes’ lead, Bournemouth applied pressure and Barnes’ Harry Cody-Owen was sent to the sin bin.

Bournemouth took advantage immediately to make it 36-17 at half-time, Gianluca Firetto dotting down.

But they were unable to get going in a lacklustre second half.

Barnes were totally dominant, with Hind securing his hat-trick on the hour mark.

A late yellow card for Davies didn’t affect the score.

Bournemouth remain bottom of the table, as Barnes climb with a win.
