Worthing ……..19
Henley …………42
FLYING wing George Griffiths registered a hat-trick on Saturday afternoon to help fire Henley Hawks to a big away win at struggling Worthing.
The winger struck for his side's second try as early as the sixth minute and Worthing were three tries down by half-time, with three more scores wrapping up the win after the break.
In a blistering start for the side battling away at the top of the National 2 table, flanker Thomas Hall had their first try after just three minutes.
Griffiths then got his first and when hooker Tom Emery crossed on 27 minutes for a 21-0 lead, things looked ominous for hosts Worthing.
They did crucially get on the board before the interval as fly-half Mathew McLean converted his own try two minutes before the buzzer.
The joy was short-lived though as Griffiths struck again immediately after the break to get the allimportant bonus-point try – prop David Manning getting Henley's fifth on 51 minutes.
Griffiths completed his hat-trick just before the hour for Henley's sixth, with fly-half Ben Bolster having a wonderful afternoon from the tee with his sixth conversion.
Worthing responded late on with scores for full-back Harry Forrest and lock George Hammond, but couldn't quite muster the energy to grab a consolation bonus point with the fourth try.
