RAMS blew away their opponents with an explosive first-half performance to go into Christmas top of the league.

They secured their bonus-point try before the break, allowing for a quieter second half, in which the Wild Geese put some points of their own on the scoreboard.

Rams head coach Seb Reynolds seemed content with his side’s performance.

He said: “These games are always tricky, as the English season is a very long one and fatigue can set in.

“But I thought the players were excellent. play a very dangerous style and they had some players from the full-time side giving them a bit of a boost. But, to get a bonuspoint victory in the last game of 2018, I can’t complain.”

Rams came out flying at the start, securing 28 points unanswered before the break, with a number of impressively-worked tries.

The pick of them came as Louis Wolf broke immediately following the restart after the third try.

Having been brought down agonisingly close to the line, Harry Lloyd was on hand to gather the ball and whip it wide to Jak Rossiter who cut inside his opposite man to score and signal the half-time whistle.

The second half was back and forth as the sides traded 12 points apiece, with Bamidele Fadahunsi scoring both tries for the Wild Geese in a losing cause.
