CANTERBURY took another big step towards their promotion target with a comfortable 38-5 bonus point victory over Barnes as Ricky Mackintosh ran in two tries.
The tricky wing went over the whitewash twice in quick succession to put Canterbury into an early lead from which they never looked back.
With the wind and the pitch against them, it was anything but an uphill struggle for the hosts as Mackintosh inched his way down the pitch before going across the line on two minutes. Ollie Best converted.
