CHRIS Rovery and Will Pomphrey scored secondhalf tries to earn Clifton a rare win on the road in a crucial victory at Bury St Edmunds.
In a hard-fought game, defences came out on top while the boot of Brad Barnes proved crucial for Clifton.
As Bury managed only one kick from five attempts, Barnes landed all three of his, two crucially from the touchline.
On a cold day, the match failed to lift the spirits of the crowd as neither side lacked the creativity or nous to break each other’s aggressive defence down.
