WITH the Rams going into the weekend perched on top of National Two South and Albanians close behind with only a single loss, this was always going to be a hardfought tussle.

Add to this persistent rain, a second half that lasted close to an hour and the strength of the Rams’ pack – and OAs did a brilliant job in overcoming the odds.

Credit goes to the two try scorers, with wing Alexander Ricci making a lightning interception in the first half and fullback Alex Noot also getting on the scoreboard.

Noot’s try came just after half-time and was the result of some neat passing between the No.15 and Ricci out wide, entertaining the crowds.

The meat of this game, after a relatively quiet first half, was the reaction following Noot’s try.

The contest became increasingly attritional as the Rams tried to make an impression on the home side with their superior scrummaging.

But time and again OAs repelled their attacks and by and large little headway was made; this set off some niggle and the ‘half ‘ lasted close to an hour as OAs heroic resistance stifled the visitors.

There were few Rams visits to the OA try line and only one productive effort which resulted in a mystifying penalty try.
