AIDEN Moss grabbed a hat-trick as Canterbury romped to a seven-try victory over Wild Geese.

The game was evenly poised after 23 minutes at 7-7, with Moss and Geese hooker Bradley Clements scoring a converted try apiece.

But Moss’s second score, converted again by fly-half Thomas Best, set a familiar tone for the remainder of the encounter as Canterbury turned the screw and dominated the afternoon’s play in .

Centre Frank Morgan crossed for the hosts’ third try just before the half-hour mark, Best missing from the tee, with wing Ricky Mackintosh racing over for the home side’s fourth just seconds before the break in what was a body blow for the away side.

The Wild Geese defended resolutely at the start of the second period – Best missed a penalty nine minutes into the second half, but Canterbury went on to run in three additional tries.

Morgan dotted down on 57 minutes for his second of the game, converted by Best and man of the match Moss added a sixth try seven minutes later, Best failing to add the extra two points.

The try of the day was courtesy of two Canterbury replacements – Jonathan Murray crossing the whitewash with a conversion by Kyan Braithwaite to round-off a fine all-round performance from the hosts.
