CLIFTON scored an unexpected victory over Canterbury as the Two South strugglers recorded their seventh win of the season.
Starting the day 18 points behind their opponents, Clifton equalled Canterbury’s three tries on the day and had Thomas Best’s wayward boot to thank for their victory.
Bradley Barnes scored a third-minute penalty to put the visitors into an early lead, but Guy Hilton hit back in a matter of minutes to put Canterbury ahead – Best missing the conversion.
