STREETWISE Redingensians just did enough on a damp day to win against a committed Redcliffians, making fewer errors. Both sides used ball-inhand early, ' rolling maul and close passing to the fore.

And on the half hour the visitors piled on the pressure and after a series of scrums No.8 Josh Collis crashed over, Jordan Souter converting.

Reds lost a man to the bin and the Rams eight took advantage with Collis adding another score from the base, Souter bettering for a 14-0 half-time lead.

The home side needed to be next on the board. They pressed but the Rams forwards kept them at bay with flanker Tom Vooght leading by example.

Trying to run the ball, mistakes were inevitable but the hosts persevered. Both sides introduced fresh legs from the bench and Reds replacement Kieran Hill's neat chip was gathered by Robbie Smith, who fed Henry Bird to score under the posts. Hill converted and the gap was seven.

Rams worked up field and a home error saw them on the line, replacement Miles Lloyd dotting down and Souter converting.

Reds weren't done for and stormed back. In the plays they took the game to the Rams. Ethan Doyle picked up from the base of a scrum to score, Hill landing the conversion to secure a losing bonus point.
