MATHEW McLean kept his cool to land two late penalties and ensure his Worthing side snatched victory.
Tonbridge had taken an early lead through lock Luke Bellinger, who barrelled over, with Nathan Holmes adding the extras from the tee.
But Worthing kicked into gear shortly after and dominated the rest of the half, with wing Sam Boyland crossing five minutes later and scrumhalf Matthew Walsh also touching down.
The reliable McLean kicked both conversions as they opened up a 14-7 advantage. He added another penalty moments before half-time.
