CLIFTON earned their second win of the league as Callum Roberts and Ian Clark both dotted down twice in a frantic opening hour against at Clifton College.

At the Clifton Memorial Day, the home side scored 38 unanswered points in the opening 53 minutes with Old Redcliffians scoring three tries in reply in the latter stages, but are still winless.

After Daniel Wells’ first minute penalty, Brian Watters extended the lead to 10-0 after just eight minutes.

Wells missed a penalty on 19 minutes but it wasn’t costly as Roberts completed a fine first half for the hosts, with his opening try just before the break.

That had the home side 17-0 to the good at the interval and they extended their advantage as Clark, twice, and Roberts went over for three further tries early in the second half.

Winger Henry Bird eventually got Redcliffians on the board with Thomas Hargan following him over as Oliver Conybeare knocked over both conversions to bring the score back to 38-14.
