WORTHING’S late flourish ensured they got the better of a spirited London Irish Wild Geese side after the clash looked to be heading for a draw.
With the scores poised at 19-19 going into the final three minutes, flyhalf Mathew McLean kept his nerve to kick three points and give the hosts breathing space.
And as the Wild Geese went in search for a reply, Samuel Boyland dotted down to confirm victory.
The Geese started the brighter, and were in front inside two minutes after Jack Cohen crashed over, with Peter Hodgkinson adding the extras.
