A STORMING first-half display helped Old Elthamians overcome battling Barnes and edge into the all-important play-off spot.
But they did not have things all their own way against the home side who mounted a brave second half challenge.
After going behind to an early Tom O’Toole penalty, the OEs backs cut loose in the opening period and ran in six tries through doubles for Dom Lespierre and Alex Brown, and one apiece for James Golledge and Huw Roberts, to open up a 36-10 lead at the interval.
