A STRONG second-half performance secured Bury St Edmunds the win in a competitive fixture that leaves Barnes struggling near the bottom of the table.
Bury dominated the first quarter with two Glyn Hughes penalties and a Jaid Wiltshire try on 18 minutes making it 13-0.
Barnes fought back with a try from winger Fraser Carlisle but two further penalties from Hughes cemented Bury’s lead.
However, Barnes were unfazed. Another try for Carlisle followed by a Rupert Crossman score on the stroke of half-time put them ahead at 21-19.
