Rugby School earned just their second win this season amidst the 200th anniversary celebrations of rugby’s creation legend.
It is said that it was two centuries ago that William Webb Ellis invented the sport whilst a student at Rugby, but today’s generation have struggled to live up to the pressure of celebrating their predecessor.
Playing every game of first term at home, their only previous win prior to this week was a 27-14 victory against Oundle. However, they were able to harness Webb Ellis’ spirit once more with a 46-15 win over Marlborough College.
