The inaugural NextGenXV Spring League continued on Wednesday with a Surrey derby seeing Gordon’s secure a 38-3 victory over Reed’s.
The new league aims to give students a chance to continue playing 15s in the often sevens-dominated spring term.
Gordon’s started strong employing an offload game but Reed’s did well to keep them at bay. Flanker Luke Whistlecroft broke the deadlock in the ninth minute, pilfering the ball and setting off on a bullish 15 metre charge to the try line. Brandon Draude added the extras – one of four he kicked in the match.
