Galthie’s plans will need a re-think

FOUR weeks into the Top 14 season and six weeks out from France’s opening Autumn Nations Series match, Fabien Galthie is already redrafting his plans and scratching out possible selections, after two players suffered serious injuries in the space of a week.
On Monday, La Rochelle hooker Pierre Bourgarit had surgery on a broken fibula, suffered in just his third match back from a shoulder injury that had kept him on the sidelines since January. It was the one downside of La Rochelle’s 4925 victory over Pau eight days ago.
