Launchbury’s impressed by French fitness

Joe Launchbury feels giant Toulouse lock Emmanuel Meafou’s form reflects a growing trend of Top 14 forwards adding fitness alongside their size, with stereotypes of French teams lacking stamina now a thing of the past.
Meafou – who was star man as Launchbury’s Harlequins went down 47-19 to Les Noirs et Rouges earlier this month – has become eligible to play for France having now resided in the country for five years, alongside him acquiring citizenship in November.
