THE process of convening an SGM of the RFU is a convoluted procedural affair, and this could be a useful ally for the likes of embattled current Board chairman Tom Ilube and chief executive Bill Sweeney, with the latter pocketing £1.1 in salary and bonuses in the last annual pay round.
However, the desire to see these two senior administrators exit Twickenham has gathered such momentum that there are reports that the quorum of 100 clubs required to call an SGM, and table a vote of no confidence in Ilube and Sweeney, is double that number already.
