Thibaud Flament has risen from Loughborough University’s fifth team to become a French international with the intention of next weekend becoming a Champions Cup winner again.
Flament, 27, took up rugby in Belgium and went from playing fly-half in BUCS Four to starting second row for France in last year’s World Cup.
The 6ft 8ins lock/flanker signed for Wasps in 2019, making 16 appearances, but quickly earned himself a move to European giants Toulouse in 2020, where he has since become a regular in the five-time Champions Cup winners’ star-studded pack.
