Alex Sanderson said Sale would need to match the pride he expects from Ulster when they travel to Belfast next Saturday for a match they need to win to qualify for the last 16.
Sharks’ director of rugby refused to blame the early dismissal of second row Cobus Wiese for a dangerous tackle for his side’s defeat.
“I have never questioned the fight in the boys, but we were nowhere near our best when we had to be,” he said. “We fell short when it came to the basics, losing line-outs and not keeping the ball at the breakdown. We made too many errors.”
