ROB Baxter said that Munster’s dominance at the breakdown was the key factor in their Thomond Park victory which sent Exeter Chiefs crashing out of the Champions Cup.
“We started brightly but Munster were very competitive around the breakdown as they were last week,” said Baxter. “We knew that was coming but it took us until half-time to really address that, which was frustrating.
We were certainly better after the break but you kind of felt the damage was done a little bit by that stage.
We kind of let Munster get on that front foot emotionally and they never really came off it.
