Courageous Chiefs plant a defiant flag at the summit

EXETER Chiefs made the remarkable transition from the English second-tier Championship to the summit of northern hemisphere club rugby by beating Racing 92 in a brutal, thrilling humdinger of a European Cup final at Ashton Gate yesterday evening.
They had to summon every ounce of will and strain every sinew to eventually repel a Racing side which took them to the brink of defeat and back.
