MARK McCall attempted to put a positive twist to his side’s lacklustre victory which saw the two-time European champions leave it late to pick up a bonus point.
The Sarries boss admitted his men were “poor for a lot of the match” after bursting out of the blocks to take a 17-0 lead inside 20 minutes but fail to put their French visitors to the sword.
McCall said: “Last year we got off to a flyer and this time we have struggled a little so far with our play. But the main thing in Europe is that you play your best rugby towards the end of the competition.
