Harlequins head coach Danny Wilson has admitted poor defence cost them a place in the play-offs after a disappointing end to the season with three straight defeats in all competitions leaving them in sixth.
Quins put together an impressive run to make the semi-finals of the Champions Cup, but their ambitions of reaching the same stage domestically fell apart as they conceded a total of 111 points in their last two games against Exeter and Bristol.
They managed to record a four-try bonus point in both games and had they won would have comfortably finished in the top four.
