Despite Bristol finishing scoreless for the first time in over seven years, their director of rugby Pat Lam indicated a line would soon be drawn under the performance.
He said: “It was not a great day at the office but we won’t dwell on it too much.”
“When a boxer gets punched in the head, he needs to get up swiftly and that’s what we will do by moving on quickly.
“You can’t let a side like Sale get ahead on the scoreboard but we did as we were too sloppy and ill-disciplined but all credit to Sale as it was a red-hot performance from them.
