Saracens boss Mark McCall showed due respect to a Newcastle side who handled the torrid conditions better.
McCall admitted having the likes of Jamie George and Maro Itoje not playing after the autumn Tests “wasn’t ideal” but said: “We were missing some internationals but we still had a lot of good experienced players playing and we weren’t anywhere near good enough.
“Newcastle were better organised than we were, they were better coached, and they thoroughly deserved to win.
