When Rob Baxter sits down to carry out his final assessment of this season, the Exeter director of rugby will look back on a campaign full of promise.
“It has been a bit of a rollercoaster,” said Baxter. “The highs have been very high and the lows haven’t been all that low, it’s more we’ve been disappointed because we know we can play better. Today was one of those days because the yellow cards have really hurt us.
“A number of their scores went in during those periods.”
