When Charlie Ewels suffered knee ligament damage on England’s 2022 tour to Australia, his club Bath were at rock bottom.
They had finished last in the Premiership, conceding 71 points at home to Saracens and 64 to Leinster in the Champions Cup, the number rivals Gloucester hit them for at Kingsholm.
