Wiese on course for Japan

Urasayu D-Rocks have emerged as favourites to sign Leicester No.8 Jasper Wiese when he leaves Welford Road at the end of the season.

Tigers thought they had retained World Cup winner Wiese, above, a key member of their 2022 Premiership title-winning side, after he rejected a move to Stade Francais, only for him to get a huge offer to move to Japan.
Suntory Sungoliath and Kobe Steelers got mentioned as possible destinations for the 28-year-old but D-Rocks, bidding for promotion from Japan’s Division Two under former Gloucester boss Johan Ackermann, are in pole position.
