What a difference a win makes. Bristol’s frustrating run of five successive Premiership defeats, four by single figure margins, ended last weekend when they passed 50 points against neighbours Gloucester and Joe Batley expects the result to kickstart their season.
Batley had started all eight of Bristol’s league matches, seven in the second row and one at blindside flanker, and felt it all came together against Gloucester after victories in the opening two rounds melted into a run of defeats.
