ON THE BLINDSIDE
Gloucester wing Louis Rees-Zammit is being lined up for a money-spinning move to France at the end of the season following his impressive World Cup displays for Wales.
Rees-Zammit, above, who NFL scouts have watched, scored five tries at the World Cup, including a hat-trick against Georgia to take his tally to 14 in his 32 appearances on the Test stage.
It was enough for watching scouts from Top 14 sides to make favourable reports, and they could spark a battle for his services from Bordeaux and Montpellier, who are both looking to sign a winger next season.
The Lions tourist has scored 59 times in 71 games for Gloucester, who he joined in 2018 and where he became their youngest-ever Premiership player at 18 years and 70 days.
Gloucester want to keep Rees-Zammit, whose social media influencer girlfriend, Saffron Barker, has appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, but they know he could earn more in France.
And that is the reason why Gloucester have been keeping tabs on England star Henry Arundell, below, who is playing in France at Racing 92 following the demise of London Irish.
He will have to return home at the end of the season to be eligible for England and isn’t set for a move to the NRL despite inaccurate reports in Australia claiming Wests Tigers and the Dolphins had lined him up.
